Team Derby is set for an exciting week at this year’s MIPIM, the global commercial property show held annually in Cannes.
The city will be exhibiting as part of the Midlands Pavilion. The Pavilion brings together inward investment agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships and councils, from across the region.
As the UK Capital for Innovation, Derby will launch the University of Derby Science Park based at Infinity Park Derby, the city's Enterprise Zone.
Derby City Council will also be unveiling their latest regeneration opportunities in the ‘heart of the city’.
Derby will be showcasing its economic strength at the Derby City Embassy, to be held at the Eden Hotel on Wednesday, 15th March, which will look at the progress made on key projects since the launch of the City Centre Masterplan.
As part of the Pavilion, Derby will feature in several panels on topics including:
- Public-private partnerships;
- Advanced manufacturing;
- City regeneration and Enterprise Zones.
Derby will also be hosting a panel on the 'heart of the city', and the challenge of creating regional cities that attract, develop and retain talent. Members include David Williams, Chairman of Derby Renaissance Board; Lindsay McCombe, Central Area Chairman of Gleeds; Melanie Leech, Chief Executive, British Property Federation; and Sean Bowles, Managing Director- Central Region of Morgan Sindall.
Partners for MIPIM 2017 include, Derby Riverlights, Derby Telegraph, Innes England, Nightingale Quarter, Smith Partnership, and University of Derby Science Park.
