At MIPIM 2017 Derby will be a hosting several key business events on a range of topics including: city centre regeneration, advanced manufacturing and Enterprise Zones.
Derby’s full schedule of events will take place between Tuesday 14 to Wednesday 15 March, and will include the award-winning Derby City Embassy.

Derby City Embassy

Held at the Eden Hotel on Wednesday morning, the Derby City Embassy is Marketing Derby’s award-winning, annual breakfast event. Marketing Derby invite attendees to hear announcements on up-and-coming investment opportunities.
Keynote speakers include Andrew Cliffe, Managing Director of East Midlands Airport; John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby; and Greg Jennings, Director of Regeneration, Property and Housing for Derby City Council.
Partners for the event include Smith Partnership, Innes England, Derby Riverlights, The Nightingale Quarter, and the University of Derby Science Park
This year Derby will be attending MIPIM as part of the Midlands Pavilion, which brings together inward investment agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships and councils, from across the region. As part of the Pavilion, Derby will be hosting several sessions throughout the week.
Midlands Hotspot: The University of Derby Science Park

The first session to be held in the Pavilion will unveil the new University of Derby Science Park, situated in Infinity Park Derby – the city’s Enterprise Zone.
The University of Derby Science Park provides an environment for businesses to connect with each other and work with universities in the delivery of a pipeline of initiatives that turn world class science into new technologies, materials, products and processes.
The hotspot will be led by Professor Richard Hall, Executive Director of Strategic Research and Innovation at the University of Derby.
Midlands Panel: The Heart of The City - The Challenge of Creating Regional Cities That Develop, Attract and Retain Talent

Hosted by John Forkin, this panel will explore how the need to spread prosperity in the UK will be accelerated post-Brexit.
With property, as well as place-making, playing an important part in designing cities of the future, the panel will debate how cities across the Midlands are meeting these challenges, by transforming themselves to become leading locations of choice.
